He misses nothing in this world. It is, after all, His creation! We do often think of this Earth as ours, but in reality it is God’s! We are just the hired managers.
Two thoughts stand out in this scripture.
First, God really does care, about everything. EVERYTHING! Nothing escapes him. And He cares what happens in his world. Have you ever thrown a piece of trash out of the car when no one was looking? God was watching! You littered in His world! Would you throw trash out on your best friends lawn just as carelessly? Likely not! Then why would you disrespect the lawn of a Holy God who entrusted you to care for His garden?
Are our lives so busy that we just don’t have time to think about respecting God’s world? How can that be? Man was put here, in the garden, to tend to the garden. That is it first and foremost duty. How dare we get too busy in our own little circle of life to think about what we are doing here?
The second thing that stands out in this scripture is, God cares! He cares deeply about his world! He cares about you and I. He cares about our pets, our plants, our land, everything! Our God is an active participant in this life, seeing all, touching where necessary. He is not some distant nameless force floating in the universe, He is here, now! He is watching everything we do and everything that happens to us.
He cares. He feels your pain, He is a loving gracious father who forgives easily and loves fully. All He wants is for us to turn to Him, trust Him, be with Him. Have you talked with Him today yet? Not TO him, but WITH him. Have you heard from heaven? Have you heard His voice? If not, why not? Were you truly to busy to wait on Him? Could you not hold out just a tad longer?
We must always keep priorities straight! We are put here, created, for two purposes:
1. Be with God, a companion to our heavenly Father
2. Tend His garden, care for His world.
Life is simple when we keep those two things in mind, and all else will fall into place.
Love the Lord your God with all you have!
And love you neighbor as yourself.
